Pdf 10 Tips I Wish I Knew at the Start of My Art Journey

Nice to meet you
I’m Doron Akiva
I’m a figurative painter with over a decade
of experience in the art world.
Since I can remember, the studio and painting have been the place where I found answers.
Through creating, I learned how to face big questions of meaning and how to turn my path as an artist into something tangible.
Like many artists, I’ve also faced bumps along the way
uncertainty, moments of confusion, and frustration.
This experience, along with the years I’ve spent creating, exhibiting, and learning, taught me an important lesson: art is not just what I paint it’s the way I live,
think, and bring myself to life.
No matter what level you’re at, this course is different from anything else out there.
It’s designed for artists who want to learn from the experience
of an active practicing artist.
Here, you’ll find a wealth of knowledge, insights, and mind opening techniques
about work processes and ways of thinking that, once you apply them,
will make you wonder why you haven’t done this before.
This course was born from the desire to give you the tools and confidence that
will save you years of trial and error, money, frustration, and wasted energy.
I wanted to create a personal and safe space that provides you with real
guidance and actionable tools.

Course Structure
The course is designed in a simple, clear, step by step structure. Each chapter will guide you one step further on your journey to discovering and fulfilling the artist within you.

How a Beginning Looks Without a Map
Introduction
This lesson tackles common challenges artists face, like self doubt, overwhelm, and distractions. I share my own early struggles and explain why workshops, advice, or expensive materials rarely solve them. You’ll learn how to gain clarity, quiet the noise, and take structured steps toward building your creative practice and career.

Tools for Building Vision and Goals
Lesson 1
This lesson focuses on the power of vision and purpose in shaping your artistic path.
Using examples like Frida Kahlo and Steve Jobs, I show how clarity guides you through uncertainty and distractions. You’ll define your personal vision and clear goals, creating a practical framework to stay focused and turn inspiration into intentional progress.

Artistic Style and Focus
Lesson 2
This lesson explores developing your personal artistic style. Style is more than technique it reflects your identity, perspective, and choices. You’ll learn methods to explore preferences, refine your visual language, and build consistency while staying expressive. By the end, you’ll understand how your style naturally emerges, making your work authentic and impactful.

Order and Portfolio Organization
Lesson 3
This lesson covers documenting and organizing your artworks. I show how a well maintained archive tracks your growth and provides insight into your creative progress. You’ll also learn to create a professional catalog that presents your work clearly and stylishly. By the end, you’ll gain control, clarity, and a professional image to elevate your artistic career.

Galleries and Art Pricing
Lesson 4
This lesson explores the professional side of an artist’s career. You’ll learn how to engage with galleries, build meaningful connections, and approach them effectively. We also cover pricing your artworks, showing how to set values that reflect your experience and the quality of your work. By the end, you’ll have the confidence to present yourself professionally and navigate the art world strategically.

Perseverance and Productivity
Lesson 5
This final lesson focuses on perseverance, productivity, and consistent practice. You’ll learn how to overcome creative blocks, manage projects, and stay focused. Practical tools help you establish routines, set goals, and use feedback effectively, while embracing mistakes as part of growth. By the end, you’ll understand that artistic growth is a marathon, and consistent work is the key to long-term success.
